2022 Code Enforcement Officer Annual Report

Code Enforcement Officer Report

The beautiful town of Belgrade had another year of growth and change in 2022. A change of code enforcement officers occurred in late September. Richard Greenwald accepted a position in the town of Manchester. I was fortunate to have been selected by the search committee for interview and recommendation to the select board for hire. The recommendation was accepted, and I was onboarded.  I have found a good cohesive team in this town office and feel privileged to serve among them. Belgrade’s growth resulted in 109 Building permits in 2022. The distribution is as follows;

  • 23 Single family homes
  • 3 Mobile homes
  • 2 New seasonal dwelling
  • 1 Swimming pool
  • 47 Additions and alterations
  • 30 Garages and sheds
  • 2 Commercial structures.

Plumbing permits are required for septic system work and internal plumbing.  New construction requires one of each while septic maintenance requires one for septic repair and/or replacement. The distribution of the 88 permits issued is as follows;

  • 42 Internal Plumbing
  • 14 for septic replacement or repair
  • 32 for new septic systems
