Voters will consider the RSU 18 budget, two Town referendum questions and party candidates on Election Day June 14. Polls will be open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Center for All Seasons, 1 Center Drive along Route 27 in the village.

Town residents must be registered to vote. Citizens can register at the Town Office or on Election Day at the polls. The Town Office, 990 Augusta Road, is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays and until 7 p.m. Thursdays. Please bring a Maine driver’s license with a current physical address or a photo ID. If either of these do not have your current living address, you must provide a piece of mail, utility bill, phone bill, a copy of a lease or a rental agreement, or you may swear an oath of residency.

Absentee ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. June 14. Completed ballots may be placed 24/7 in the secure dropbox under the porch on the north side of the Town Office or brought to the Center for All Seasons on Election Day.

On the ballot are:

  • Three RSU 18 questions, including approval of the $41.7 million budget recommended by the school board and approved by voters at the district’s budget meeting, and a $3.7 million bond for campus improvements. A third question asks whether voters wish to continue the budget validation referendum process that is currently in place.
  • Two Town questions. One seeks authorization to join the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) for the Town’s full-time firefighters and emergency medical service employees. The other seeks to reduce the number of members of the Board of Parks and Recreation from 10 to seven members.
  • Party primary elections, including choosing candidates for the gubernatorial election in November.
