The Town of Belgrade will conduct a special town meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the Town Office, 990 Augusta Road, to consider a moratorium ordinance on subdivisions, commercial solar facilities, commercial wind energy facilities, telecommunications towers, and subdivisions. The warrant and the proposed ordinance are attached below. The vote would extend the moratorium on these specified developments as the Planning Board continues its work crafting regulations within ordinances that the voters will ultimately consider. Residents must physically attend the meeting to be eligible to vote or to speak during the meeting. Town meeting votes may not be cast and comments may not be made remotely, according to state law.

The moratorium is not directly related to a potential solar development along Routes 8/11 that will be the subject of a public informational meeting hosted by the developer at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Center for All Seasons, 1 Center Drive along Route 27 in the village. Should the moratorium pass, that developer would have to wait until it was lifted to submit a commercial permit application to the Town.
