Memorial Day observance
Address
Maj. Ian Hepburn will deliver the keynote address at Belgrade's traditional Memorial Day observance at 10 a.m. Monday, May 31. The ceremony will be conducted inside Belgrade Central School, 158 Depot Road. Weather is forcing the event's move from Pine Grove Cemetery.
Maj. Hepburn has served in the armed forces for 25 years, six in the U.S. Navy as a submarine nuclear technician, and 19 years in the Army National Guard in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. He has spent the last eight years of his Army career in the Maine Army National Guard.
During the ceremony, the names of deceased service members from Belgrade will be read aloud. The public is invited. The program is attached below.
The Town Office and other Town facilities will also be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.
