The Dams Committee will discuss a remediation project on the Wings Mill Dam, spillway leakage at the Village Dam, and a proposed data logger on the Salmon Lake Dam when it meets at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at the Town Office, 990 Augusta Road. The Dams Committee is an inter-local group of volunteers appointed to serve by the signatory municipalities of Belgrade, Oakland, Rome, Sidney and Mount Vernon to oversee the maintenance and operation of Belgrade's three dams: Long Pond/Wings Mills, Great Pond/Village, and Salmon Lake. At its monthly meetings, the committee discusses lake levels, maintenance and operations of the dams, and possible recommendations to municipal officials.
