Selectboard meeting

Selectboard meeting
Event Date:
Tuesday, April 20, 2021 - 6:30pm

The Board of Selectpersons will consider extending the moratorium on subdivision permit applications and commercial permit applications related to solar and wind farms, and telecommunications towers when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20. Meetings are currently being conducted via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81131427984. All Town board and committee meetings are open to the public. The agenda and background packet are posted below.

Voters approved a 180-day moratorium in November to allow the Planning Board to revise the subdivision ordinance to conform with state law and the commercial development review ordinance to address the decommissioning of solar arrays, wind turbines and telecommunication towers. The Planning Board's work on those ordinances continues.

The five-member elected Selectboard serves as Belgrade’s governing body on matters that are not statutorily required to be approved by the voters. The Board’s duties include recommending a budget and most ordinances for voter consideration, approving expenditures and Town policies, appointing members to Town boards and committees, and hiring and evaluating the Town Manager, who oversees the Town's day-to-day operation on the Board's behalf. The board typically meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m.
