Tuesday, September 21, 2021 - 6:30pm

The five-member elected Board of Selectpersons will consider a proposal from the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments to assist the Planning Board with amending the Town's Commercial Development Review Ordinance when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Town Office, 990 Augusta Road. The public may also participate via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81131427984. All Town board and committee meetings are open to the public. The full agenda and background packet are posted below.

The Planning Board will soon craft amendments to the Commercial Development Review Ordinance related to solar and wind farms, and telecommunications towers. The new regulations will include standards for decommissioning infrastructure once it has outlived its useful life.

The Selectboard serves as Belgrade’s governing body on matters that are not statutorily required to be approved by the voters. The Board’s duties include recommending a budget and most ordinances for voter consideration, approving expenditures and Town policies, appointing members to Town boards and committees, and hiring and evaluating the Town Manager, who oversees the Town's day-to-day operation on the Board's behalf.
