The five-member Planning Board will continue its work on regulations for commercial solar arrays when it meets at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Town Office, 990 Augusta Road. The Planning Board's primary responsibility is to review and consider applications as they relate to building, renovating or planning to build in areas where the following ordinances govern: Shoreland Zoning Ordinance, Commercial Development Review Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, Floodplain Ordinance, Manufactured Home and Mobile Home Park Ordinance, Minimum Lot Size Ordinance, and Multi-Family Dwelling Ordinance. The Planning Board also provides substantive updates to ordinances, conducted over time and usually in consultation with planning professionals, to bring the documents up to date.
The Planning Board does all of this with an eye toward integrating the needs of the town and within the goals of the Comprehensive Plan.
