Selectboard online meeting
The Board of Selectpersons will meet online Tuesday, May 19. The Board will consider reinstituting recycling at the Transfer Station and a new format for the Recreation Department's summer day camp program.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. The meeting can be accessed via a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/963032016. A user's device must have a microphone to participate in the discussion. Activating a device's camera will allow the user to also be seen. The public can post questions either by typing them in the chat bar on the right-hand side of the screen or clicking a "raise hand" feature in the chat function to gain the Board chair's attention. The chairman will recognize those wishing to speak in order to maintain a decorous meeting.
Because of the ongoing public health concern, the state Legislature recently approved a bill to allow municipal governing bodies to meet remotely for as long as the governor's emergency order is in effect, plus an additional 30 days. The Belgrade Selectboard opted to meet on Zoom, a user-friendly videoconferencing platform. Zoom will not only allow Selectpersons to meet remotely, the public will be able to watch, listen and participate in the discussion.
