The Lakes Committee will hear from a trio of area code enforcement officers about shoreland enforcement when it meets at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at the Town Office, 990 Augusta Road. The committee is seeking to learn more about the challenges of shoreland enforcement from code enforcement officers Richard Greenwald of Belgrade, Andrew Marble of Rome and David Savage at Oakland. During a recent joint meeting of the Lakes Committee, Planning Board and Comprehensive Plan Committee, a portion of the discussion revolved around a possible need for a full-time code enforcement officer to better attend to shoreland issues that threaten lake water quality.
