Bulk/special waste
Belgrade property owners are issued a punch card every two years that allows them to dispose of, at no additional charge, up to four tires (up to 22 inches and with no rims), two computer systems, two televisions, two mattresses or boxsprings, two couches or chairs, and one freon-cooled item. Current punch cards, which are bright green in color, expire March 31, 2023. Punch cards are non-transferable and are void if misused. Only one card is issued per address. Punch cards are not issued to commercial ventures. They can be obtained at the Town Office, 990 Augusta Road, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays and until 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
The following items have designated sites for disposal at the Transfer Station. Please ask an attendant where to deposit them before unloading your vehicle. The brush pile is intended for vegetation in its natural state only.
- Appliances with freon: $8 each
- Box springs and crib mats: $5 each
- Sofas: $10 each
- Sectionals: $5 per section
- Stuffed chairs and recliners: $5 each
- Large plastic or fiberglass items: $15 each
- Mattresses: $10 each
- Porcelain sinks and toilets: $4 each
- Rugs and carpets: $5 each (5-by-8 feet), $10 each (larger)
- Tires: $3 each
- Asphalt shingles: $15 per cubic yard
- Brush (including tree stumps): First load free for residential users and $4 per each additional load per day. Commercial users are charged 75 cents per cubic yard, with no first free load.
- Bulky wastes: $15 per cubic yard, $3 minimum for less than one-half cubic yard
- Demolition wood: $15 per cubic yard, $3 minimum for less than one-half cubic yard
- Boats: $75 (10 feet in length), $100 (12 feet), $125 (14 feet), $175 (16 feet), $250 (17-21 feet)
