2022 Library Annual Report

The Belgrade Public Library had a great year in 2022! This past year we hosted a number of programs from a musical performance by Mr. Harley and The Strollers, to multiple author talks, to animal rescue group Sparks Ark. In 2022 we chose to read The Lowering Days by Maine author Gregory Brown as our community read, which culminated in an Author visit in August. The year was full of live animals, great stories, great storytellers, and great books.Multiple donations allowed us to greatly expand the offerings in our juvenile collections. We purchased hundreds of new non-fiction books, picture books, and chapter books for youth readers. Among the books purchased are our new Sandra Fowler collection including classic picture books and Caldecott award winners, engaging books like the Eyewitness series and Stephen Biesty's Cross Section books, and favorites like Maine Student Book Award nominees. Our other collections weren't left out either! We've got new audiobooks, new adult and young adult fiction, new non-fiction, and many new large print titles. Some of our most popular titles this year include The Lowering Days by Gregory Brown - our community read, Hatchet Island by Paul Doiron, and Find Me by Alafair Burke.
