Augusta, Maine, to encourage and promote volunteerism.  Its recognition
 
program has spread through more than twenty-six cities and towns in Maine.
 
The Spirit of America Foundation Award historically is presented to honor local
 
Individual(s), organization (s) and /or projects for community service.
 
The award recognizes individuals and organizations in appreciation of exemplary
 
community service.
